Founded in Australia by Dale and Jason Proposch, Flutterby is more than just an online store. It’s a celebration of artistry, community, and the magical power of paint.
Meet Dale – Our Founding Artist
Dale’s journey into the world of face and body art began in 2006 at a humble school fundraiser. What started as a fun activity quickly blossomed into a full-blown passion that would shape her career as an artist and lead her to become a dedicated contributor to our creative community.
Over the years, Dale has worn many colourful hats:
- Professional face and body artist
- Teacher and Workshop Facilitator
- Instructor and coordinator for Body Art Awards and Conventions
- Product Development
- Marketing Manager
- National and International face and body painting competitor.
Her proudest moment? Representing Australia alongside the industry greats at the World Bodypainting Festival in Austria in 2017. A true highlight in a career filled with vibrant adventure.
Dale has lived on both the West Coast and East Coast of Australia, and has travelled extensively through every state, territory, and overseas. Her deep understanding of diverse environments and communities gives her a unique perspective on the needs of artists across the country. She brings a wealth of experience from the industry — not just through her work as an artist, but also through her mentors and her efforts to support, guide, and encourage others in their creative journeys.
Meet Jason – Our Business Brain
Jason brings a different kind of magic to Flutterby. With over 15 years in leadership roles, including COO and CEO gigs, and more than 10 years building small businesses in consulting, retail tech, and e-commerce, he’s the strategic force behind the scenes. But don’t let the numbers fool you, Jason is completely captivated by the artistic universe and thrives in its colour, curiosity, and creativity.
Together, Dale and Jason form a dynamic duo: one with paint on her hands, the other with a business plan in his back pocket, both united by a shared love for the face and body art community.

You’ll meet our other team members from time to time, they tend to pop up like whack-a-moles, sometimes when you least expect it and sometimes when you do. And then there’s Murray and Stevie, our four-legged sausage team members. Their job? Providing unconditional love and barking at anything that moves, and some things that don't.
